2026 Holiday Schedule Announced
Leaf Collection
City of Shelbyville Street Department will begins collecting leaves starting November 2025.
They typically aim to collect leaves on your regular trash collection day. However, as the leaves fall more quickly, there may be some delays—so we kindly ask for your patience as they work through the schedule.
Please remember to pile your leaves loose at the curbside in front of your home, NOT in the street gutter.

Dumpster Permits
If you would like to sit a dumpster on a city street or right-of-way, approval must be given by the Street Department. Once permission has been obtained, the Street Department will issue a permit that must be posted on the side the dumpster. Dumpsters are only permitted to stay on the city streets for 14 days.
