[ARCHIVED] City of Shelbyville Releases Official Information Ahead of January 21 City Council Meeting

The City of Shelbyville has published an official meeting information brief ahead of the January 21 City Council meeting to provide residents with verified details on location, timing, agenda items, public comment procedures, and livestream access.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Shelbyville High School in Breck Auditorium (2003 S. Miller Street). Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will also be live streamed on the City’s YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/@cityofshelbyville.

The only item on the agenda is Ordinance No. 26-3052 (Annexation of Certain Real Estate). City Council will consider either a request to continue the ordinance to a future meeting date or proceed with the second reading of the ordinance.

City Council meetings include a standing “Public Comments / Requests and Comments from Citizens” section near the end of the meeting. While the January 21 meeting is not a public hearing, public comment will be available under structured guidelines due to anticipated attendance. Individuals wishing to speak must sign up prior to the start of the meeting, public comment will be limited to a total of 60 minutes, and each speaker will have up to one minute.
