Shelbyville, Indiana – We are thrilled to announce the unveiling of the breathtaking sun installation, the final piece of our scaled solar system along the Blue River Trail in Shelbyville, Indiana. This remarkable artwork, created from over 60 thermoplastic tiles, was meticulously assembled like a giant puzzle and fused to the concrete using torches.

This project would not have been possible without the generous support of the Simons Foundation as part of the 'In the Path of Totality' Initiative with IU Center for Rural Engagement, MIBOR REALTOR Association, the City of Shelbyville Parks and Recreation Department, and the Blue River Community Foundation. We extend a special thanks to Geveko Markings Inc. and G-FORCE Indianapolis for their exceptional craftsmanship and dedication in bringing this vision to life.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce phase two of this project, which will feature new signage and the addition of a gnomon sculpture, transforming the site into a functional sundial.
