Mistletoe Market and Holiday Parade

Date: December 5, 2025
Time: Festivities begin at 5:00 p.m. | Parade starts at 7:00 p.m.


Celebrate the magic of the holiday season in Shelbyville with the annual Mistletoe Market and Holiday Parade! This beloved community event features festive activities, shopping, and family-friendly fun for all ages.


Parade

  • Start Time: 7:00 p.m.
  • Route: The parade begins at the intersection of Mechanic Street and N Harrison Street, continues south on N Harrison, turns west on W Washington Street, and ends at City Hall (44 W Washington Street).
  • Participant & Float Registration: Registration is closed
  • Staging: Parade participants will stage at the Knauf Parking Lot (enter off of John Street). Dispersal will occur at Tompkins Street and W Washington Street intersection. Parade float organizers should coordinate post-parade meeting locations for participants.

The parade concludes with an exciting appearance from Santa Claus himself! Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy holiday cheer with festive floats, twinkling lights, and the magic of the season.

Mainstreet Shelbyville Inc's Mistletoe Market

Time: 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Location: Downtown Shelbyville

Experience the charm of the Mistletoe Market, organized by Mainstreet Shelbyville Inc. Enjoy:

  • Vendor Market: Explore unique gifts, crafts, and holiday treats with over 30 vendors
  • Carriage Rides: Horse-drawn carriage rides by Blue River Carriage Company, sponsored by Caesars Entertainment. Rides will be offered from 5 to 7 p.m. with reservations required. Reservations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and released on the Mistletoe Market Facebook event page at 10 a.m. on Nov. 1. THIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT.
  • Ferris Wheel: Take in the sights of downtown Shelbyville. $5 per ride load (cash only).
  • Free hot chocolate and make-and-take cookie kits from the City of Shelbyville in the southwest quad.
  • Shop Local Specials: Support local by shopping and dining at our downtown businesses.
  • Live Reindeer: Interact with Santa's crew in the northeast quad
  • Penny Lane Photo Booth: Capture your holiday memories by the downtown fountain provided by the City of Shelbyville
  • Ice Sculpture Photo Opportunity: Presented by Caldwell's Inc. More details to come!

Location: Santa’s Workshop, Southwest Corner of Public Square
Hours: 6:00 pm -9:00 pm

  • December 5: Following the tree lighting
  • Additional Days: Every Friday and Saturday in December leading up to Christmas

Capture the magic of the season with a photo with Santa! Santa’s Workshop is brought to you by Shelbyville Kiwanis.

Visiting Santa is FREE- a printed photo is $5.00 CASH ONLY. 

Send letters to Santa any time by placing it in Santa's mailbox. Letters must be received by December 14, 2025 to receive a response. 


Safety is Our Top Priority

The safety of our community, parade participants, and event attendees is our highest priority. To ensure a secure and enjoyable event for everyone, certain roads will be temporarily closed during the Mistletoe Market and Holiday Parade. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as these closures allow us to create a safe environment for all.

Road Closure Details:

  • E. Washington St. from Harrison St. to Pike St. | Closed 1:00 - 10:00 p.m.
  • Public Square from Franklin to Broadway St. (N->S) and Pike to Union St. (E->W) | Closed 3:00 - 10:00 p.m.
  • Southbound Bridge at Boggstown and N. Harrison St. | Closed just before 7:00 p.m. and will reopen immediately following the parade.
